Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Diversity Is In Our DNA

We Embrace and Respect Authenticity

Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). At Applause, we understand their combined power. We value diversity in all its forms: age, color, disability, ethnicity, family/marital status, gender identity/expression, language, national origin, physical/mental ability, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, veteran status and more.

Each day, we strive to both remove the hurdles to equity and to enable opportunities for all employees. As a minority owned business, DEI is in our DNA, and our global community adds tremendously to that mix. We also prioritize charitable contributions to organizations that support underrepresented groups, such as dream.org, GLAAD and United Way.

It’s really gratifying to see women being put in leadership roles, to see people who don’t look like me or who have different backgrounds be able to advance within the organization is really compelling.

Global Content Marketing Manager

Applause is very inclusive and respectful of global culture. They give us freedom, respect Indian festivities and support celebrating our festivals. Diwali is the most interesting time for India employees as we receive nice gifts from Applause.

Each team at Applause encourages cross-collaboration and inclusivity of others - we encourage speaking up about the issues that you may face, and everyone is always available and ready to lend a hand.

When I interviewed, I definitely saw things that I relate to. They were flexible, they were super open, the team was very multicultural. I was coming from Colombia and was really looking for a place where I could feel like I fit in and that had an open culture.

Maria Castañeda Buendia

DEI in All We Do

It’s an intrinsic part of our culture and extends across everything we do.

Our Employees
We actively seek out the best talent and work with programs to hire within underrepresented communities. Internally, we offer workshops such as personality trait awareness, unconscious bias awareness and affinity groups, which enable employees to create their own experience around diversity topics and more.
Our Customers
We ensure a global, diverse perspective by engaging real users to test for our clients in all industries all around the world. Our mission — focused and massive — is to improve the digital experience for our clients and their customers, ensuring inclusive access for all. We believe that digital quality improves quality of life.
Our Global Testing Community
We are proud of uTest, the world’s largest community of digital experts — currently 1.7M members strong. This incredible group doubles as an economic framework, enabling work that may not exist otherwise. For example, in countries with limited opportunities for women in STEM jobs.

Investing in Equity Every Day

Equity doesn’t just happen overnight, nor is it a one-time event. Our ongoing commitment is built on the foundation of our professional development curriculum and approach to leadership training. We provide all the tools needed — everything from unconscious bias training to methods for offsetting legacy disadvantages and more. It’s also core to the way we interact as teammates on a daily basis, and the expectations we set for each other.

A Contract for a Sustainable Future

Applause’s sustainability practices reflect our core belief that doing the right thing is also good for our customers and the world.

Our CEO, Chris Malone, signed the Vista CEO pledge, which commits us to measure greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions annually and reduce them by 50% by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050. Each year, we set GHG reduction targets and offset goals. We also focus on energy and waste management as well as product innovation to support positive environmental outcomes.

In addition, because we have built a successful hybrid office-remote work environment, we reduce energy use around the world.
