Faster, Better, Stronger: Applause Automation Enhancements

Applause is excited to announce new enhancements to its Test Automation solution that help clients run tests faster and increase confidence in their results. What has improved, you may ask? Take a quick look.

  • Ability to run tests in parallel. Run tests across multiple browsers at the same time. This reduces the duration of tests, increases release cadence, identifies defects faster, and increases developer productivity—helping teams keep up with the pace of agile development.
  • Test reliability. This has been implemented at several different checkpoints to improve resilience of the test execution. Consumers have the ability to easily initiate test re-runs directly from their UI. Our approach combines test retry and a multiple locator strategy so customers can feel confident about their test results and understand why a test may have failed.

Test automation is essential for agile development, as it provides scalable, reliable, and repeatable results. More importantly, it allows you to test a broader spectrum of code, continuously. However, implementing a successful automation strategy is not a simple task. There is no silver bullet approach, and companies struggle to find a strategy that is scalable and produces greater ROI with less risk.

Applause created its Test Automation solution to tackle these challenges by combining automation experts with a proven framework. This helps companies release faster, increase coverage, and free up employees’ time.

With that said, not all tests should be automated. Pure automation doesn’t provide insight into all possible use cases that could come into play after a release. To see the full picture, test automation must be combined with manual testing.
